Design Fellowships
Fellowships
Fellowships are offered to early-career designers and graduate-level candidates in scenic, lighting, sound and costume design. Design fellows assist designers on mainstage productions and are provided with other design opportunities.
Is there a Stipend?
Design fellows receive a stipend totaling $3,600 for an eight week engagement during the summer season. In addition, CTC covers the housing cost of $400 per week, and a travel stipend of $250 is provided. The term of engagement is ten weeks.
Who should apply?
Applicants for the Design Fellowship program have historically been designers who are currently enrolled in graduate training programs. Those having recently completed their training or at an equivalent stage in their artistic journey are also welcome to apply. In past seasons, the positions have been filled by graduate students from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Yale School of Drama, The University of Texas at Austin, Carnegie Mellon University, Boston University and CalArts, among others.
How Can I apply?
Please prepare a cover letter, resume, and a PDF of your digital portfolio and/or a link to your website, and submit your materials via this application portal. Candidate materials should be received by January 15, 2025 for full consideration; however, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position has been filled.
